Caffeine-Free Tea

Everything on this page is caffeine-free or close to it — rooibos, herbal infusions and botanical blends that carry real flavour without the lift. These are the cups for late afternoon and evening, when you want the ritual but not the wakefulness.

How to choose

Rooibos is the closest thing to black tea without caffeine: full-bodied, naturally sweet, takes milk. Start here if you are replacing an evening tea habit.

Herbal and fruit infusions are lighter and more aromatic — mint, chamomile, hibiscus, citrus.

Dessert-leaning blends — chocolate, caramel, vanilla, nutmeg — do the work of a pudding with no sugar in the cup.

Questions

Is rooibos actually tea? No — it is a South African shrub, not the tea plant, which is why it has no caffeine at all.

How do I brew it? Boiling water, 5–7 minutes. Herbal blends are hard to over-steep, so a long soak is safe.
